At an estimated cost of around $350 million, the Austin Grand Prix had its problems during the build up to its first race in 2012, but went on to successfully host an entertaining race and open the door for Formula One back into the US market.
Formula One had not returned to the States since the Indianapolis event was dropped from the calendar after the 2007 race.
