Fernando Alonso will not be taking part in the first winter test session at Jerez next month.
The former double world champion will instead be focusing on his physical preparations for the 2013 Formula One World Championship, leaving the heavy lifting to Felipe Massa and test driver Pedro de la Rosa.
Brazilian Felipe Massa will give the new Ferrari it’s track debut over the first three days of the test starting on February 5th, with De La Rosa taking the final day after he moved to Ferrari following the HRT teams demise.
Alonso will take his new car out for a spin at Barcelona?s Circuit de Catalunya on February 19th during the second winter test session. He will keep the car for the next two days while Massa will drive the final day.
Then in the final winter testing session ahead of the new season, the pair will share duties, driving two days each between February 28th and March 3rd.
