Jules Bianchi’s family have spoken of how hard they have found it since the accident in Japan.
The Marussia driver suffered a horror crash during the Japanese Grand Prix on a wet Suzuka circuit.
Sauber’s Adrian Sutil had crashed on the very same turn a lap earlier and crashed into the tyre barrier, however for Bianchi, his Marussia crashed into the recovery vehicle which was retrieving Sutil’s Sauber.
The safety car and doctors car was then immediately deployed followed by an ambulance which took Bianchi to Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaich.
Unfortunately the helicopter was unable to land at the Hospital, so Bianchi was taken by road.
Reports suggest that this was a delay of approximately seven minutes, which has made no difference in Bianchi’s condition.
The FIA confirmed that Bianchi left the circuit unconscious after suffering a diffuse axonal brain injury and is in a critical but stable condition.
‘The situation is desperate, Every time the telephone goes, we know it could be the hospital to tell us that Jules is dead. said Philippe Bianchi, the drivers father to Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
‘He will not give up, I’m sure of that. I can see it. I believe it.’
‘I speak to him. I know he can hear me.
‘His doctors have told us that this is already a miracle, no one has ever survived such a serious accident. But Jules won’t give-up.
On Sunday ahead of the Russian Grand Prix all 21 Formula One drivers headed to the front of the grid before the start of the race.
They formed a ‘circle of solidarity’ for Bianchi, whilst race winner Lewis Hamilton dedicated his win to Jules.
‘It would be great to dedicate it to him and his family, It would make a very small difference to them, but every bit of positive energy hopefully will help. We all need to be sending positive vibes that way…’
‘…without a doubt every time I got in the car this week, I’ve honestly just been keeping him in my prayers every day.’ Hamilton told the media.
When asked about the F1 drivers support for the Marussia driver Philippe Bianchi said: ‘I’ve never seen anything like that, It touched us very deeply. We thank every one of them. So many of them have been in touch, written to me; Alonso, Vergne, Massa have given strong messages.
‘Hamilton wrote me a beautiful email in which he says that if there is anything he can do, he’s there. Rossi and Marquez from Moto GP too.’
