Williams believe that the Spanish Grand Prix weekend could shape the rest of their season.

Whilst 2014 has already seen the team score more points in the opening rounds of the season then they achieved throughout the entire season last year, Williams will have believed that they could have achieved even more.

With the power of the Mercedes engine, Williams looked as though they could be challenging for regular podium positions this season alongside the likes of Red Bull Racing and Ferrari.

But for a variety of reasons, either due to the elements with wet qualifying sessions or technical glitches they haven’t yet, realised the potential that they had shown during winter testing.

With the return of the European season, Williams, like many other teams up and down the pitlane, will be looking forward to the development race and how their upgrades will affect the teams performance.

‘I think it’s going to be an important weekend,

‘It’s going to give some direction of how the rest of the season is going to be. If we can make some steps forward, it would be really nice, but it is going to be interesting.’
Williams driver Valtteri Bottas told Autosport Magazine.

‘We know it’s difficult because everyone will bring more updates, it’s just a matter of whose work and whose don’t.

‘The positive thing is that most of the parts we brought [to China] worked and we saw an improvement, so we are hoping to make an even bigger step in Barcelona.’
