Valtteri Bottas was content with his and the teams performance at Sunday’s Russian Grand Prix.
The Finn just missed out on a podium to his compatriot Kimi Raikkonen, but with the performance of both Mercedes and Ferrari being further advanced than Williams, he had little complaints with a fourth placed finish.
?Not 100 percent happy, of course I wanted more, But in the end, looking at the results, seeing the pace of Mercedes and Ferrari, that was the limit for us, pretty much. Bottas told motorsport.com.
?It was tough. I was really hoping to fight for the third place, being in the top three, but obviously they had a quicker car.
‘They managed to get us during the pitstops. I got stuck behind a McLaren for a while after my stop, so that cost me a little bit.?
Bottas also had to deal with Lewis Hamilton fighting back to finish on the podium after he started the race from tenth.
But what really hurt him in the one-on-one battle with Kimi was getting caught behind Fernando Alonso on the pit-stops.
