Lewis Hamilton believes that new Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas could well be his best team-mate of his career.
Hamilton heads into the 2017 Formula One World Championship after ten years in the sport.
He has driven for both McLaren and Mercedes and has had a number of team-mates, with differing working relationships.
At McLaren he had a stormy relationship in his rookie year with Fernando Alonso, a relationship which threatened to rip the team apart.
At times at Mercedes he also had a fierce rivalry with Nico Rosberg.
But he’s also had friendly partnerships with both Heikki Kovalainen and Jenson Button.
Could Valtteri Bottas prove to be the best yet?
‘What I so far like about working with Valtteri is that it is all to do with the track – what we do on the circuit – and not outside. There are no games – there is complete transparency. I like that. I feel we already have a better working relationship than I ever had with any team mate I had before.’ Hamilton told formula1.com.
‘He wants to do the best thing that he can in his first year with the team – and with me being here for quite a while now, I want to deliver and make sure that I give as much information so that he will learn. And we do our talking on the track!’
