After BBC opted to dump Formula One, Channel 4 have picked up the terrestrial rights for F1 in the UK.
Their deal works exactly the same as when it was broadcast on the BBC, with 10 live race weekends shown and the other 11 Grand Prix weekends are covered by highlights programmes.
Sky Sports F1 will continue to be the only place where every practice session, qualifying and race will be shown live and in full.
2016 will be the biggest season ever for Formula One with a 21 race season for the 2016 Formula One World Championship.
In addition to the 19 race season that Formula One raced during 2015, F1 will welcome back the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim and visit Baku for the first time as Azerbaijan hosts the European Grand Prix.
Channel 4 have opted to only show 2 of the opening 7 rounds live, whilst the end of the season will see only 2 of the final 5 races live.
These selections have enabled Channel 4 to show 6 of 9 races from June through to October, including British Grand Prix and the majority of the races across Europe.
