The Formula One teams and drivers have made their tyre selections for the US Grand Prix weekend.

The new three compound tyre regulations from Formula One and Pirelli have worked brilliantly this season.

The drivers and teams have to secretly make their selections weeks in advance and are then locked in with their selections, this has made for some interesting tyre strategies over the course of the 2016 Formula One World Championship.

For Austin, Pirelli nominated the White striped medium compound, the yellow marked soft compound and the red super-soft compound.

Once again there are a wide array of selections from the 22 drivers on the grid, some taking just 1 set of medium tyres, whilst others have taken 5.

Of the softs everyone has taken between 3 and 5 sets, whilst the super-soft all drivers have gone for anything between 5 and 8 sets.

The most aggressive strategy, ie the fewest selected medium tyres are both Ferrari drivers and both Saubers and Grosjean at Haas.

All five drivers have opted for pairing their 1 set of medium tyres, with 5 sets of softs and 7 sets of super-softs.

The most conservative, with 5 sets of mediums is Palmer at Renault, who has gone for just 2 sets of softs and 6 sets of super-softs.

Hamilton and Rosberg at Mercedes have gone for slightly different combinations, as Hamilton has gone for one extra set of mediums [3 sets] over Rosberg, with the German having one extra set of softs [5 sets]. Both have 6 sets of super-soft.

At Red Bull Racing both drivers have 4 sets of medium, 3 sets of soft and 6 sets of super-soft.
