Ferrari have already taken the fight to Mercedes this season, but the Italian team will take another step forward with an engine upgrade at the Canadian Grand Prix.
The Scuderia made gains over the winter thanks to an improvement on their hybrid turbo technology.
But this upcoming upgrade, which will use around 50% of their remaining development engine tokens will see an improvement to the engine and a performance gain of between 20-30 brake horsepower.
The upgrades will be in addition to further development changes made on the car ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix.
?I?ve heard that a lot of people are coming with new things. We are now preparing some solutions for Barcelona,?
?I don?t really like to talk about this before [the event as] afterwards expectation [rises] and so on, but we are doing all our development step-by-step. We are hoping that it?s a good package and not a back[wards] package.? Ferrari team boss Maurizio Arrivabene told Sky Sports.
