Jose Froilan Gonzalez, a legendary racing driver with Ferrari, has passed away at the age of 90.

Known as ?Pampas Bull?, Gonzalez secured Ferrari’s first F1 win when he won the British Grand Prix in 1951 in only his second season in motor racing.

Luca di Montezemolo paid tribute to a friend that he’ll miss, he said: ?As a driver and a man he played an integral part in our history. His death means we have lost a true friend.

‘The news of the death of Gonzalez saddened me greatly.

‘We had spoken not that long ago, talking about cars and racing, the topics he was most enthusiastic about.

‘Over all these years, he was always very attached to Ferrari.’

In all Gonzalez raced 26 F1 races and went on to win another Grand Prix, also at Silverstone in 1954, the same year that he won the Le Mans 24-hour race for Ferrari with Frenchman Maurice Trintignant.

The Argentinean died in a Buenos Aires Hospital on Saturday, may he rest in peace…
