Force India have signed another young exciting driver to their stable alongside Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon.
22-year-old Canadian Nicholas Latifi, who won at Silverstone in Formula Two in 2017 has been named as the teams new reserve and test driver for the 2018 Formula One World Championship season.
He will participate in a number of Friday practice sessions during the course of the year.
‘I’m really excited about the opportunity,’ said Latifi to Sky Sports.
‘Sahara Force India is a team that has shown constant improvement for the last few years and I’m proud to become a part of one of the success stories of Formula 1. I am eager to show the team what I can do and help them as they continue to close the gap to the front of the grid.’
Unfortunately the news does mean that British youngster George Russell has missed out.
