Former Formula One World champion Lewis Hamilton has made the Sunday Times sport rich list top 10 and in doing so has become the richest UK sportsman aged 30 or under.

The McLaren drivers wealth grew by around £15 million last year, giving him an estimated fortune of around £50 million, placing him level with former British Formula One drivers David Coulthard and Nigel Mansell.

Other people associated with Motor Sport who made the list were Dave Richards (£58 million), Jody Scheckter (£60 million), Eddie Irvine (£80 million) and Johnny Dumfries (£110 million).

Wigan Athletic’s Football Club Dave Whelan topped the list with £190 million, with former England football team captain David Beckham second with £135 million.
