Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa have both had an eventful 2011 Formula One World Championship.
Results wise both drivers have suffered probably their worst form since they entered the sport.
Felipe Massa driving for Ferrari didn’t manage to finish any higher than fifth all season and finished the year a whopping 139 points behind Ferrari team-mate Fernando Alonso.
While Lewis Hamilton spent more time visiting the race stewards than he spent standing on the podium, while finishing 43 points behind McLaren team-mate Jenson Button.
But this year will not be remembered for the relatively poor results, but more for the feud they shared throughout the season.
The two drivers collided with each other on six occasions this season, with incidents happening on the track in Monaco, Silverstone, Singapore, Japan and India, while off the track they even had a coming together in the press area following the race in Singapore.
On different occasions both drivers were penalised for causing the incidents, but more often than not, the race stewards blamed 2008 F1 Champion Lewis Hamilton as did Massa.
But it would seem that both drivers have now made a bid to put this season behind them, with Hamilton visiting Massa after the race in Brazil.
‘it was nice at the end of it, in an impromptu way, for Lewis to have a hug with Felipe.
‘Hopefully that story will now end and we’ll move on to a great championship fight for next year.’ McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh told the BBC.
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali added: ‘I was very pleased to see today Hamilton come in here and hugging Felipe.
‘At the end of the day that is what it is all about. It was a good gesture and I am very happy that today this was pretty clear.’
Massa simply added: ‘I was pleased that Lewis came around to see me. It was a very nice gesture on his part.’
Hamilton & Massa end feud

Good, don’t need that stuff on the track, too dangerous. Bet they collide first race of next season now! LOL
Dont know if there was ever any danger but it was a bit wearing at times
There was no danger, none of the incidents were malicious, it was just a coincidence that it happened to be Massa getting in the way of Hamilton each race.
So you don’t think Hamilton was at fault in any of the incidences?
Hamilton was at fault for Singapore (?) when he clipped Massa’s wheel, but it was just a slight tap and a racing incident in my view. Hate all this having to penalise someone for every bit of contact.
