Just how can Nico Rosberg win the 2016 Formula One World Championship?
It’s a question that Lewis Hamilton and his followers will be asking themselves, in a season where Hamilton has had the upper hand on his Mercedes team-mate, much like he has in previous seasons and yet it’s the German who can clinch the crown in Brazil.
A number of mechanical problems have plagued three-time F1 title holder Hamilton, so whilst he has still dominated Rosberg on the track in regards to performances, it’s results that matter and with the German not having as many reliability issues he’s on the cusp of his first title.
So how can Rosberg win the 2016 Formula One World Championship this weekend?
Rosberg holds a 19 point lead over Hamilton with the Brazilian and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix remaining.
A win for Rosberg clinches the title. A win for Hamilton, takes the battle to Abu Dhabi.
If Hamilton fails to finish on the podium in Brazil and finishes 4th or 5th, then Rosberg only needs to finish second.
If Hamilton finishes 6th or 7th, then 3rd will be enough for Rosberg.
If Hamilton finishes 8th or lower, then Rosberg needs to finish 4 places ahead of the Brit.
If Hamilton finishes out side of the points, then Rosberg will require just six points [7th or higher].
