Nico Hulkenberg has started the F1 season well with Force India and he thinks that if they, and he, continue to show consistency they can maintain their Constructors’ Championship status.

Currently Force India lie third overall, the 54-points that they have currently amassed is only 23-points less than the whole of last seasons total! Hulkenberg himself is fourth on 36-points.

The new found consistency is the key to this with him admitting that things are going ‘even better than expected’ with him enjoying the start to the season.

He was quoted on sky sports as saying: ‘I’ve enjoyed the first part of the year.

‘It’s probably gone better than we were expecting after winter testing and it’s good to keep picking up the points.

‘I’m fourth with 36 points and I think that’s a big achievement. The car has worked well everywhere and we’ve made the most of the opportunities. Consistency is surely one of our strengths at the moment.’

The hard work and effort with the VJM07 is paying off with Hulkenberg keen for the lofty status, personally and as a team, keen to remain but for that himself and Sergio Perez must continue to deliver.

Has the start made by Force India surprised you, and can they retain this?
