If Sebastian Vettel believed his switch from Red Bull Racing to Ferrari would see him return to dominating form in the near future, he is wrong.
That’s the opinion of the new Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne, who does not believe that Ferrari will return to winning ways in 2015.
The 62-year-old Italian who is Fiat Chrysler chief executive, replaced former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo in October.
In recent weeks a clear managerial restructure has taken place at Ferrari, including a second new team principal within a year.
Maurizio Arrivabene has replaced Marco Mattiacci, who only replaced Stefano Domenicali in April.
‘2015 will be a difficult year that will put the team to a real test.’ Marchionne told the BBC.
‘I think 2015 is going to be a reconstitution year. It will be Maurizio’s first full year with the team.
‘I think hopefully within the next 12 months we will remove all the baggage of uncertainty that is going to plague at least the initial phase of 2015.’
