Following on from the three key appointments at Manor Marussia, Fabio Leimer has now joined the team as reserve driver.

Earlier this week Manor Marussia announced former Toro Rosso chief designer Luca Furbatto had joined the as head of design, former Caterham team engineer Gianluca Pisanello had become chief engineer and former Mercedes technical director Bob Bell had also joined Manor Marussia as a consultant.

Now the team have announced former 2013 GP2 title winner Fabio Leimer as reserve driver.

The 26-year-old Swiss has signed a deal for the remainder of the season and will be scheduled to replace either Will Stevens or Roberto Merhi during selected free practice one sessions.

?In particular I?m very excited to have the chance to drive the car in selected FP1s, but I am also looking forward to spending a lot of time trackside with the team, contributing my observations and experience in engineering situations and also learning about the team and a Formula 1 operation.
