The Marussia team have opted to run with one car this weekend in Russia.
With Jules Bianchi still fighting for his life in a Japanese hospital, following the horrific crash during the race in Suzuka the Marussia team said ‘fielding a single car, that of Max Chilton, is the appropriate course of action under the difficult circumstances’.
The Marussia team have set up Jules Bianchi’s side of the garage, whilst leaving Bianchi’s car sitting empty on its jacks.
Marussia team-mate Max Chilton told the BBC: ‘I don’t know how to put into words how truly devastated I am by what has happened to Jules.
‘The support from the F1 family has been incredible and all we can do is be there to support Jules’ family at this difficult time. It is going to be a very emotional weekend for the whole team, but we will try to get through it and keep praying for Jules.’
All of the Formula One drivers will be displaying messages of support for Bianchi on their helmets, with an apparent mix of ‘Tous avec Jules #17’ [all with Jules] or Forza Jules [Come on Jules].
