This week the Mercedes team have been celebrating their 2015 Formula One constructors title success.
The German manufacturer were unable to celebrate their success in Russia as they were unable to secure the title on the track.
Mercedes had all of t-shirts printed and in boxes ready for the victory as they only had to beat Ferrari by three points to take their second title in two years.
But with Nico Rosberg’s retirement, Ferrari outscored Mercedes with Sebastian Vettel finishing second and Kimi Raikkonen finishing fifth.
But Raikkonen was penalised for his final lap incident with Valterri Bottas and he was handed a post-race 30-second penalty a couple of hours after the chequered flag had dropped.
That swung the title back into Mercedes grasp following Lewis Hamilton’s victory.
‘To get the constructors’ championship feels very special and a great feeling to be a part of this and to have contributed to the team’s success,’ Hamilton told Sky Sports.
‘It’s really an amazing feeling and I’m very proud of them up there on the podium, to see all their smiling faces. I feel like a small part in the chain of many people; I’m proud of that part and I look forward to seeing the whole team at the factory. I knew the guys were going to do a good job this year but they’ve done an even better job this year than last, which is phenomenal.’
In 2015 Mercedes have won 12 of 15 Grand Prix, have collected 24 podiums and have scored 531 points so far.
