The Mercedes drivers of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton might not be pleased with how things have been going in recent races, but Mercedes as a team are delighted.

Between Nico Rosberg’s two Grand Prix victories in 2014 and Lewis Hamilton’s four race wins, Mercedes have won every race of the season to-date.

With Hamilton’s retirement in Australia that leaves Rosberg leading the drivers championship as it stands, but over the following five races Mercedes have taken maximum points with five consecutive one-two finishes.

That puts Mercedes on 240 points after six races, 141 points clear of second place Red Bull Racing and 162 points ahead of Ferrari.

‘To take our fifth consecutive one-two finish is an incredible achievement for our team. It doesn’t matter how good a car you’ve got: to achieve that kind of run, you need amazing drivers and a great team performing faultlessly. Mercedes team executive director (technical) Paddy Lowe told formula1.com.

Mercedes team executive director Toto Wolff added: “Six wins from six races, and five one-two finishes in a row, is a very special achievement at the start of this 2014 season.
