Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes appear to have completed their contract negotiations over the 2014 Formula One World Champions new contract.

With just days before the start of the new 2015 Formula One World Championship, defending F1 title holder Lewis Hamilton was said to be close to securing his Mercedes future.

The two-time Formula One World Champion has entered the final season of his contract, the third year of a deal he signed after opting to leave McLaren.

But whilst his future at Mercedes was thought to always be secure, the rumour mill has suggested that Ferrari have made multiple approaches for Hamilton to join the team from 2016 onwards fuelling the fire over why talks with Mercedes had gone on for so long.

Hamilton has no formal representation having parted company with his XIX Entertainment management team last year.

Instead after previously putting contract negotiations on hold to concentrate on his challenge for a second world title, Hamilton has been negotiating the terms of his new deal himself.

Those terms now appear to be all agreed with the lawyers on both sides now finalising the contract.

?It is going back between the lawyers so hopefully it is done before the weekend, That would be great, but if not in due time.? Hamilton told Sky Sports.
