Red Bull’s chief technical officer Adrian Newey has been awarded the OBE [Officer of Order of the British Empire] for services to motorsport.

The 53-year-old is roundly thought of as the best Formula One designer of recent years having won championships with both Williams and McLaren, before helping to turn Red Bull into the dominating form they have shown in recent years.

1992 Formula One World Champion Nigel Mansell who had already been awarded the OBE, was awarded the CBE [Commander of the Order of the British Empire] for services to children and young people in his role as president of charity UK Youth.
