Almost 12 months ago McLaren announced that they had captured Red Bull’s head of aerodynamics Peter Prodromou.

Prodromou had been part of McLaren’s engineering team between 2000 and 2005 before making the move to Red Bull, along with Adrian Newey.

The aerodynamic chief wasn’t expected to start work with McLaren until the end of the 2014 Formula One World Championship season, however it would appear that Red Bull Racing and McLaren have come to an agreement which enables Prodromou to start work at Woking early.

That agreement was probably something to do with the fall-out regarding Dan Fallows.

Fallows had also agreed to leave Red Bull Racing to make the move to McLaren, only to later change his mind after being offered improved terms at Milton Keynes.

McLaren had claimed to have a legally binding contract regarding Fallows, so its possible that both teams have come to a compromise.

Peter Prodromou will become McLaren Racing?s chief engineer.

?It?s fantastic to return to McLaren, and to see a mixture of faces old and new. Of course, I have first-hand experience of just what a passionate, focused and capable race team exists within these walls, and I?ve already seen the enthusiasm and positivity that exists to return McLaren to world championship-winning glory. he said in a statement quoted by Sky Sports.

?I, too, am determined to work flat-out to do everything I can to help initiate a new chapter of success in McLaren?s history.?
