Red Bull Racing’s Guillaume ‘Rocky’ Rocquelin has been promoted within the Red Bull ranks, leaving Sebastian Vettel needing a new race engineer for 2015.
Sky Sports have reported that Rocky will take over the role of Red Bull Racing Head of Race Engineering from the end of the season, a role which will see him oversee all the engineers from both sides of the garage.
It’s part of a new team structure which will be in place following Adrian Newey’s departure from the week to week running of the team.
Guillaume ‘Rocky’ Rocquelin has been Sebastian Vettel’s race engineer throughout Red Bull’s dominant era, winning all four of the teams constructors and drivers titles together.
Gianpiero Lambiase will join the team for next season to become Sebastian Vettel’s new race engineer.
Lambiase will join the team from Force India where he is currently race engineer for Sergio Perez.
