Formula One Management has confirmed that a proposed calendar for the 2016 Formula One World Championship has been leaked.

Whilst the calendar is only a proposal and has not been approved, it does give some indication towards the plans for next season.

The first sees 21 Grand Prix on the schedule instead of this seasons 19 following the German Grand Prix being erased from the calendar.

The new race is set to be the new European Grand Prix hosted by at Azerbaijan in Baku.

The leaked 2016 calendar also shows that Formula One are making a move to condense the season, starting two weeks later in April, shortening the summer break to just three weeks and running seven back-to-back double-header race weekends.

This is being proposed a bid to save costs and time to Formula One teams.
