The fourth and final day of the first F1 winter test session in Jerez came to and end on Wednesday.
With the exception of Felipe Nasr and the Ferrari powered Sauber on day three, every day has seen a Ferrari on top of the time sheets in Spain.
Four-time Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel topped the first two days, whilst 2007 F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen ended the final day with the quickest time of not just day four but the entire winter test.
His time of 1m 20.841 was a tenth faster than the time set by Vettel on day two and 0.704 seconds faster than the time set by Nasr on day three.
‘Over the winter, we have made a good step forward and this car is definitely an improvement over the 2014 one, It’s the whole package that has progressed, but there is still a lot of work to do. Kimi told formula1.com.
Nico Rosberg set the fastest time for Mercedes over the four days [on day three], but that lap was a second slower than both Raikkonen and Vettel’s times.
2014 Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton was a further two tenths down on Rosberg with a time that he set on day four.
But once again it was all about mileage for Mercedes with Hamilton completing another impressive 117 laps.
However unlike last year when it was just Mercedes powered cars that were completing good distances at this stage. All the teams [with the exception of Force India who are not in Spain and McLaren Honda] will be pleased with the distances covered.
Raikkonen completed 106 laps, Ericsson for Sauber completed 112 laps and Max Verstappen for Toro Rosso completed 97 laps all on day four.
McLaren Honda once again set the lowest amount of laps and the slowest times.
