Kimi Raikkonen who is set to return to Formula One next season with Lotus [Renault] has injured his hand after crashing during a snowmobile race.

The 32-year-old suffered the injury in Austria on Saturday and the team have confirmed he suffered a minor wrist injury.

It is not expected to be anything serious, but the 2007 Formula One World Champion might have his left wrist analysed to be sure later this week.

Kimi Raikkonen is set to return to Formula One alongside Romain Grosjean who has been named as his team-mate by the Lotus team for 2012.

The team have announced ambitious plans to be competing for the World Championship over the next three seasons.

‘The plan is to be world champions in two or three years’ time.’ Team principal Eric Boullier said to the BBC.
