Next season, with aerodynamics set to have a bigger impact on performance than in recent years, Red Bull Racing are set to be strong contenders.

It’s widely known that Adrian Newey is the leading light in Formula One, with his legacy somewhat cemented during a period of dominance for Red Bull Racing as the team took four back-to-back constructors titles with Sebastian Vettel becoming a four-time Formula One World Champion.

But with the introduction of the V6 Turbo-Hybrid era to F1, Newey’s influence diminished as the sport became a power-unit contest and aerodynamics had less of an affect.

Over the past year Renault have began to close the gap to Mercedes in regards to power, with Red Bull surpassing Ferrari in 2016.

With the new aerodynamic regulations, they could go one better in 2017 and challenge Mercedes.

With Mercedes struggling to find a replacement for retiring champion Nico Rosberg, a solid driver line-up is not something that Red Bull Racing have problems with.

The line-up of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen will be one of the strongest on the grid.

?I think as [Verstappen] gains that experience it will hold him in better stead for coming years. There are always areas that you can improve and it is working on those marginal returns.? Red Bull team principal Christian Horner told motorsport.com.

?He has done an enormously impressive job to have jumped in the car, won his first grand prix and then to go on and finish on the numerous podiums he has achieved,?

‘Brazil was an absolutely outstanding drive and he has produced another great drive [in Abu Dhabi]. He has marked himself out as a man of the future.?
