Are Red Bull Racing considering sacking Christian Horner?
The rumour in the paddock became so strong over the weekend of the Austrian Grand Prix that an unnamed team principal even rang the Red Bull team principal ‘to commiserate’ him on losing his job….ahead of the race at the Red Bull Ring.
Speculation is mounting over his future, with some pointing towards Gerhard Berger as being the man in the frame to take over.
The former racing driver has become a frequent observer at Formula One races this season and in Austria was wearing a number of Red Bull Racing items of clothing and was even sat on the pit wall during the weekend.
Red Bull Racing have declined to comment on the speculation, however Horner told the Times: ?I was shocked. I had no idea people were talking about me that way, I have a long contract with the team. It is difficult, but I had dinner with Dietrich [Mateschitz] on Saturday evening and we still get along very well. We know we have problems, but we just have to work through them and I am here to do that job.?
