The days of the all singing, all dancing Formula One car launches are unfortunately a thing of the past.

Whilst Red Bull Racing had a car launch on Wednesday, complete with dramatic lighting and smoke machines, it didn’t actually involve launching a new car.

The new car will not be unveiled until pre-season winter testing in Barcelona, instead this unveil was to primarily to talk to the media ahead of the new season and show off the cars new livery.

On the new paint job Red Bull boss Christian Horner told Sky Sports: ‘We decided to go for something a bit more innovative and an aggressive feel,’

On the upcoming 2016 Formula One World Championship, where Red Bull will race with re-branded Tag Heuer-Renault engines he said: ‘We are going to start the year hopefully with some progress from the end of last year, but with our engine partner’s commitment to buying a team now, we’re hoping to see staged progress during the course of the year.

‘We are hopefully going to see a steady rate of improvement, so probably the second half of the year is going to be more competitive than the first half.’
