When Renault unveiled their new car for the 2016 Formula One World Championship many spectators and fans were disappointed.
This was the French car makers return to the sport as a fully fledged manufacturer and the car looked underwhelming.
Everyone within the sport knows that this will be a transitional year for the team following their takeover of Lotus. The car has been hastily readied, switching from Mercedes power to Renault power and not a whole lot else development wise has taken place.
But everyone was expected a predominantly yellow looking car, to match Renault’s traditional colours and instead a black car, similar to the old Lotus livery was unveiled.
According to motorsport.com Renault will host an event in the build up to the Australian Grand Prix weekend and teased: ‘Black? Blue? Yellow? Red? Striped.’
Will Renault stick with their own corporate colours or have the signed a big sponsorship deal which will take centre stage?
