As we had anticipated Sauber have extended their deal with Ferrari for 2014 and beyond.
The deal between Sauber and Ferrari extends the current technical partnership, with Sauber continuing as Ferrari customers for engines, gearbox and Energy Recovery Systems.
Next year Formula One goes through some big regulation changes with engine changes from 2.4-litre V8s to 1.6-litre turbos with enhanced energy recovery systems.
With Toro Rosso switching from Ferrari to Renault for next season, Sauber’s deal sees them join Marussia as customers of the Italian manufacturers.
?We are pleased to extend our technical partnership with Ferrari taking Sauber into the new era of engines that starts in 2014, Ferrari has been a long standing partner of the team, first from 1997 to 2005 and then again from 2010 onwards.’ Sauber team principal Monisha Kaltenborn told formula1.com.
?We are proud to extend our relationship with such a prestigious and renowned brand and look forward to entering the 2014 season with a strong and reliable partner like Ferrari.?
