The 2016 Formula One World Championship season begins in March, but in February, the teams and drivers will return to the track for the first time since November.
This year, in another measure to cut costs, there will be just two winter pre-season tests, the first being between the 22nd and 25th February.
But whilst track time ahead of the new season has been cut by a third, Sauber will not run their new car during the first test.
The C35 will not make it’s debut in Barcelona over that first test, with the team instead opting to run last seasons car.
The team however do hope it will make the second and final winter test, which will also be at Barcelona between 1st and 4th March.
The BBC believe the decision to bring the opening race of the season in Australia forward to 20th March has forced some teams to re-think their schedules.
However Brazilian Felipe Nasr and Swede Marcus Ericsson, will continue with their original plan.
