Potentially excellent news is emerging this morning with reports that seven-time Formula World Champion Michael Schumacher’s health is slowly improving.

The news comes from his wife who has spoken for the first time since Schumacher’s skiing accident occurred in December last year.

Schumacher had been in a coma since he suffered a severe head injury skiing on Sunday 29th December 2013.

Over the following few of months, Schumacher had undergone two operations on his brain and missed his 45th birthday.

The former Jordan, Benetton, Ferrari and Mercedes driver had remained at the French hospital in Grenoble throughout his treatment, but following news that he was out of his coma in June the German was moved to the University Hospital in Lausanne.

Up until now all medical updates regarding Schumacher’s progress have either been made by the Grenoble doctors or Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm.

However over the weekend Corinna Schumacher made her first public appearance telling German women’s magazine, Neue Post: ‘It’s getting better, slowly certainly, but in any case it’s improving.’
