If you listen to the speculation around the Formula One paddock, you would think that Williams driver Bruno Senna would be seriously concerned about his Formula One career.

Everyone seems convinced that the Williams team will confirm their 2013 driver line-up with Pastor Maldonado leading the team and Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas making the step up from reserve driver.

The 23-year-old who first joined the team in 2010 has previously won the GP3 Series and impressed during Friday morning practice stints, usually replacing Bruno Senna for the session.

He is seen as one of Formula One’s rising stars and while at 28-years-old Bruno Senna is by no means past it, he was always a late developer and it’s thought that the team would prefer to stick with Maldonado, who of course also comes with a huge sponsorship backing.

So with his Williams seat up in the air, his whole future is up for speculation, not that Senna is overly concerned.

‘I just need to keep focusing on doing my job, I’ve had some bad luck recently which has put me on the backfoot in terms of results, but I’ve had many strong races and I just need to keep on with that and hopefully that will result in a seat for next year.’ Senna told Sky Sports.

Senna has indeed enjoyed relative success this season with seven points finishes in comparison to Maldonado’s three.

However due to Maldonado’s victory in Spain, Senna is 8 points behind his team-mate in the drivers standing, with Williams 8th in the constructors’ world championship, only ahead of Toro Tosso, Caterham, Marussia and HRT.

If Bruno was to lose his Williams seat, he could make the move to either Caterham or HRT. Where Heikki Kovalainen, Vitaly Petrov and Narain Karthikeyan could all be on the move.

It’s unlikely that seats will be available at Sauber where Nico Hulkenburg and Esteban Gutierrez are the ones heavily tipped for the two race seats.

The empty space at Force India is likely to go to either Jules Bianchi, Jaime Alguersuari or we could even see the return of Adrian Sutil to the team.

Senna added: ‘The most important thing is the result on the race track, If you get results, your future is normally in better shape.

‘[Staying in] Formula 1 is my objective and I’ll keep pushing to make sure I stay.’
