After pushing and pushing for in-season testing sessions, Formula One has now agreed to a reduction in in-season tests for 2015 and beyond.

In 2014 in-season tests were re-introduced following a period with a testing ban. These tests took place immediately after four Grand Prix last season.

With teams holding test days in Bahrain, Spain, Britain, and Abu Dhabi.

However it has now transpired that the teams have struggled to justify the expense with limited benefits to the tests.

So for 2015 there will be just two in-season tests in Jerez, Barcelona and Red Bull Ring in Austria. Both test sessions will last two days.

In addition the new FIA’s 2015 Sporting Regulations also states that Formula One teams have to run with drivers who have had no greater than two F1 starts in their career for for two of the four days overall.
