Manor have revealed their new name for the 2016 Formula One World Championship season.

After financial problems, the 2015 season was one of treading water for the team whom had almost folded following administration.

The team ran a year old chassis, modified to meet 2015 safety regulations and competed with a 2014 Ferrari engine.

For 2016 however the team will have a brand new chassis and will also be boosted by a switch to brand new Mercedes power units.

The team hopes to be much more than a backmarker this season, competing with the likes of the midtable teams such as Sauber.

To begin this fresh chapter for the team, Manor have announced that they have dropped the Marussia name from their title and have also revealed a brand new logo.

And according to motorsport.com, the re-branded Manor Racing team’s chassis is to be called MRT.
