It’s a big question, but one that Villaininthemerde was man enough to ask.

From the current crop of Formula One drivers, just who is the best of this generation?

The options were obvious, Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel who won the Formula One World Championship in 2010 and is just one-point away from claiming the title for 2011, McLaren’s Jenson Button who won his F1 title in 2009 in a Brawn GP car, team-mate Lewis Hamilton who won the title in 2008 or Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso who is a former two-time F1 champion from 2005 and 2006 when he drove for Renault.

Unsurprisingly the VF1 users are torn, with a three-way tie for the lead between Hamilton, Vettel and Alonso when this article was written, while Button was only 4% behind.

Lewis Hamilton 26%

Sebastian Vettel 26%

Fernando Alonso 26%

Jenson Button 22%

If you haven’t voted yet, you will find the voting panel to the right hand side of this article and why not join the debate over on the VitalF1.com forum where the debate unsurprisingly has evolved onto whether any of the current drivers would mix it with the all-time greats of Formula One.
