Mercedes dominance over the first half of the season has practically seen them wrap up the constructors championship.

Red Bull Racing currently hold second place in the Formula One constructors championship, however the current four-time Formula One World Champions are 174-points adrift of Mercedes.

Red Bull hold a 77-point lead over third placed Ferrari, but with Williams in fourth a further 7-points adrift, Massa believes the team have what it takes to challenge for second place in the championship going into the final 8 races of the season.

Williams have shown that they are one of the fastest cars on the lower downforce circuits, with their car complementing the Mercedes engine perfectly.

Both Felipe Massa and team-mate Valtteri Bottas have qualified on the front row of the grid this season, whilst Williams have also been a regular on the podium.

‘We need to fight for that [second place]. If we do a perfect job from now until the last race, it can be possible,’ said Massa to the BBC.

‘It’s not impossible that we will have more of a chance against Mercedes.

‘Spa and Monza should suit us, maybe Austin and Brazil, and in the last race in Abu Dhabi there are some good straights.’
he concluded.
